The plan
I have therapy soon, but before then I’d like to write about my plan going forward. As it stands, I’m technically “unemployed”. However, the fire of adulthood has officially been lit under my ass, since I’m going to be paying rent starting July 1st, $700/mo. Now I’m not actually worried about that, considering FAFSA alone will pretty much pay for that entirely, but I do need to get a job. I’d rather not do retail or in-person work, but if I’ve gotten no where by June 15th, well let’s just say I can’t be a chooser.
I have a meeting with my “Mentor” Jared Bentley this upcoming weekend. Will that result in work? Who knows. But simply talking to him and picking his brain will do more to push my career forward than not doing that, so I’ll take it. He’s actually been very kind to me, which I really appreciate, but I do worry that he doesn’t think I’m a hard worker. He got me a job on a film set as “Set PA”, which is better than regular PA, and he paid me for it, but when he came he saw me in the back, away from the action, doing lock-up. Now was I back there bc I was feeling lazy? Maybe. Did I work my ass off every other hour I was there? Yes, yes I did. But hopefully that isn’t all he sees of me.
I also have a few future projects I’ve been working on. I have a film I’ve nearly fully written that I could make with approximately zero budget, but the second I move out, I know it’ll be much more of a hassle to work on. But I have another project, one I’m working on with my brother, that would need a budget. It'd be called Assassin’s Creed Fallen, or something like that, and the entire premise is answering the age old question, “what would a modern day Assassin’s Creed game look like?” Now my goal is to make something even the most die-hard of nerds would appreciate, so I have to start by making a good story. Part of the story includes things called “Power Capsules” which were a failed Abstergo project that were supposed to make super soldiers. My character was a test subject for these, and it didn’t work- mostly. The capsule my character was injected with was for enhanced strength, but it only comes out when he’s extremely afraid. Finally, I’ve been uploading on my Minecraft YouTube channel a good bit more, and it is actually pulling in viewers and subscribers, which feels nice, and I’ve enjoyed making the videos.
